Enterprising WAEnterprising WA in partnership with Rotary aims to bring enterprise development support to emerging entrepreneurs, social innovators and to disadvantaged individuals and communities. We also seek to build community and industry awareness about the value of developing an enterprising culture in Western Australia. Entrepreneurial endeavours inject growth, innovation and vitality into an economy and for individuals, it provides a compelling means for personal growth and self-actualisation. Enterprising WA has many initiatives including: Australian Business Icon Competition Business Icon is an exciting annual competition for ambitious young people that tests and develops personal and professional skills. The framework and judging criteria for Business Icon has been closely aligned with the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Employability Skills Framework . This framework recognises the skills employers seek when hiring new employees. All Business Icon contestants will be able to give certification to employers proving their skills in communication, teamwork, ethics, innovation and enterprise. Entrepreneurs Basecamp Entrepreneurs’ Basecamp is a 4-day-camp designed to impart generic entrepreneurial skills and introduce the issues associated with creating new ventures. The camp is designed to motivate and prepare potential entrepreneurs for the long and challenging path ahead. It will be the first step for many in the opening up of business enterprises and creation of future wealth in Western Australia. Entrepreneurs Basecamp information and a camp hilights video Entrepreneurs Unleashed Entrepreneurs Unleashed is about focusing on one idea and building a business or project. This is a 6 week program partly delivered online combined with two weekend workshops - one at the beginning and one at the end. The program is a personal journey with the support of mentors and business experts from idea to start-up. Participants are incubated at the AELC for the entire program. The program is run on an annual basis. |
